Strategy: YES: the property is located in a strategic context of Piacenza, consisting of the area of the Exhibition Center and the Logistics Center, subject to redevelopment through the protocol of the Iron Pole, which provides for the construction of a freight station by RFI. It is also planned to establish a mix of functions: commercial center for the promotion of typical products from Piacenza, accommodation, catering, as well as spaces for innovative start-ups in the food and wine sector. Within the recovery project, there will also be play/recreation places, restaurants and a cavea in the courtyard for summer shows.
Accessibility
The city of Piacenza has a strong infrastructure endowment that allows it to play a hinge function between the Milanese and the Emilian metropolitan system. To strengthen its identity in a strategic area of the city, the restoration of the nineteenth-century structure (now in an advanced state of degradation) would allow the valorization of the entire sector. The adjacent Piacenza Fair, a historic exhibition of local production districts in the agro-food, mechanical, logistics and construction sectors, represents an input of over seven million euros and a catchment area of more than 200,000 visitors, and aims, in the perspective of the general growth of the economy of Piacenza, to develop its proposals in the European context. At 200 mt from the farm is located the most important Logistics Pole of Northern Italy that develops on a total of about 2.4 million square meters; the companies of the Pole employ more than 2000 employees with a movement of goods that reaches almost 3 million tons per year. Piacenza’s logistics centrality makes it a place of extraordinary potential for the development of a brand linked to local excellence products. The recovery of the Cascina would therefore determine a virtuous spiral of urban redevelopment of the exhibition and production area of the city, proposing a complete product "Piacenza" and connected with the city and the territory, near the important motorway A1/ A21. The opportunity must be taken in function of the strategic location of the place, barycentric compared to the great logistic and industrial pole of supra-regional charactermunicipal, close to an important exhibition complex and easy accessibility compared to the major highways and ordinary traffic.
